# Google account connection

> Manage the Google account linked to Chartcastr for Sheets, Docs, and Drive access. Understand the impact of disconnecting on your active pulses.

## Overview

Chartcastr uses your Google account to access data from Google Drive, Sheets, and Docs. Managing this connection is critical for the continued functioning of your pulses.

## Connection Status

You can view your connected Google account in [Manage → Connected Accounts](https://chartcastr.com/admin/manage/account).

## Impact of Removal

  **Profound Impact**: Removing or disconnecting your Google account will immediately break all pulses and connections that rely on Google-based data sources.
</Warning>

This includes:

* **Google Sheets connections**: Any pulse fetching data from a sheet will fail.
* **Google Docs/Sheets Context**: Any pulse using Google Drive files for [External Context](/analysis/context/overview) will lose that context, potentially degrading AI analysis quality.

## Best Practices

* Ensure the connected Google account has access to all the files you intend to use.
* If you need to switch accounts, re-link your sources immediately to minimize downtime.
