# Usage and limits

> Monitor AI chat messages, monthly pulse deliveries, and AI analysis quotas in real time. View plan limits for your Chartcastr organization.

## Overview

Manage your workspace effectively by monitoring your organization's usage. Chartcastr provides a real-time view of your metered features, deliveries, and AI consumption.

## Metered Features

Chartcastr tracks several core features to ensure fair use and platform stability.

### AI Chat Messages

Usage is tracked on a daily basis. Each message sent to the AI Chat counts towards your daily quota.

* **Daily Reset**: Your message count resets every 24 hours.
* **Tier Limits**: Limits vary depending on whether you are on the Free, Starter, or Pro plan.

### Monthly Deliveries (Pulses)

This tracks the total number of pulse deliveries (Slack messages, Teams messages, or Emails) sent in the last 30 days.

* **Rolling View**: This is a rolling 30-day window, not a calendar month reset.

### AI Analyses

Tracks the number of AI-powered insights generated across your connections and pulses. This includes automated summaries and deep-dive analysis.

## Plan Features & Restrictions

Different tiers of Chartcastr provide different levels of access. You can view the full comparison table in your dashboard.

### Key Categories

| Category   | Description                                                  |
| :--------- | :----------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Limits** | Maximum number of connections, sources, and seats.           |
| **AI**     | Access to advanced models (Claude 3.5/4) and message quotas. |
| **Pulses** | Frequency and volume of automated deliveries.                |

## AI Quotas & BYOK

We use high-performance LLMs to analyze your data. Each analysis consumes tokens which we aggregate into your daily message quotas.

### Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)

If you require significantly higher volume or want to bypass platform AI limits, the **Pro tier** allows you to "Bring Your Own Key". This lets you plug in your own Anthropic or OpenAI API keys to power Chartcastr's AI features directly.
