Overview

Extract existing chart configurations from your Google Sheets and render them beautifully with Chartcastr’s advanced charting engine. Your data stays private and secure.
Recommended — This is the best option for most use cases. Reuses your existing chart configurations while keeping data private.

How It Works

  1. Connect your Google account to Chartcastr
  2. Select a spreadsheet from your Google Drive
  3. Choose an existing chart from the spreadsheet
  4. Chartcastr automatically:
    • Extracts the chart configuration (type, colors, axes, series, etc.)
    • Pulls the data from the specified ranges
    • Renders a beautiful chart using Recharts
  5. Save as a source and connect to your destinations

Features

  • Private Data: Keep your spreadsheets private — no need to publish publicly
  • Full Configuration: Preserves chart type, colors, axis titles, legends, and stacking
  • Multiple Chart Types: Supports bar, line, area, pie, and scatter charts
  • Live Preview: See exactly how your chart will look before saving
  • OAuth Authentication: Secure access using your Google account
  • Auto-sync: Data, ranges, grouping, and styling update automatically when your spreadsheet changes

Automatic Reflection of Changes

One of the key benefits of using Premade Charts is that Chartcastr automatically registers changes made within your spreadsheet. If you perform any of the following in Google Sheets:
  • Update Data: Add new rows or change existing values
  • Adjust Ranges: Expand or shrink the data ranges assigned to the chart
  • Change Grouping: Modify how data is aggregated or categorized
  • Formatting: Update chart titles, legend positions, or series colors
These changes will be automatically detected and reflected in Chartcastr. This provides a much more flexible experience than Custom Data Ranges, which may require manual adjustments if your data structure changes significantly.

Published Chart URLs (Alternative)

If you prefer, you can also use a published chart URL. This requires making the chart publicly accessible.
  1. Open your Google Sheet and select the chart
  2. Click the three-dot menu → Publish chart
  3. Set to Image format and Anyone on the internet can view
  4. Copy the URL and paste into Chartcastr
Published charts must be fully public. Restricted charts (requiring sign-in) are not supported due to Google limitations.
