Free tier included. Track 1 domain on a daily or weekly cadence with no API key. Paid plans add multiple domains, hourly cadence, and backlinks / referring-domains via DataForSEO.
Auto-configured source. OpenPageRank is one of Chartcastr’s zero-setup sources — there’s no OAuth flow, API key, or upstream account to create. Enable it with one click, type in the domain you want to track, and Chartcastr handles fetching, scoring, charting, and alerting on every run. The upstream API key and quota are managed by us.

Overview

OpenPageRank is the simplest way to monitor your site’s authority. You enter a domain — Chartcastr handles the rest. We pulse Slack or email the moment the score moves, with the trend chart already drawn and an AI summary attached. This source is powered by OpenPageRank, an open metric built on Common Crawl that brings back a PageRank-style 0–10 score. Chartcastr normalizes it to a 0–100 score so it reads like the Domain Rating / Domain Authority numbers you’re used to, and fronts the upstream API cost — there is no key for you to manage.

Prerequisites

  • A Chartcastr account (free is fine for 1 domain on daily/weekly cadence)
That’s it. No OAuth, no SEO tool subscription, no DNS verification.

Setup

1

Enable OpenPageRank

Go to Settings → Source Integrations and click Connect on the OpenPageRank row. This is a one-click action — there’s no form to fill in.
2

Add a domain

From Add Source, enter your domain (bare hostname like example.com). Chartcastr will fetch the current score so you can preview the chart.
3

Create a connection

Pick a destination (Slack channel or email), set the schedule, and you’re done. Pulses fire only when the score changes between runs — unchanged values become silent UNCHANGED job runs and don’t ping you.

OpenPageRankLineFree0–100 authority score over time. Built from past job runs — history grows after the first scheduled pulse.

Referring DomainsLinePaid (coming soon)Number of unique domains linking to your domain.

Historical backfill via Ahrefs

OpenPageRank only returns the current score on each call (the upstream index refreshes roughly quarterly), so brand-new connections start with a single chart point and accumulate history over time. If your org also has the Ahrefs source connected, you can opt in to backfill 90 days of historical Ahrefs Domain Rating when you add a domain. The backfilled points render as a separate dashed series on the same chart so you can see prior trend without conflating scales — Ahrefs DR and OpenPageRank are similar in concept (both 0–100) but use different methodologies, so we don’t merge them into one line.

How pulses work

Chartcastr computes a deterministic hash of the score on every run. If the value matches the previous run, the job is marked UNCHANGED and no Slack / email is sent — even though we still pulled the latest data. If the score moves, you get a notification with the chart and an AI-generated summary of the delta.

Cross-source analysis

Add OpenPageRank to a Source Group alongside Plausible, Google Search Console, or Shopify, and Chartcastr’s AI correlates the metrics across them in a single pulse:
  • “OpenPageRank held steady but organic clicks dropped 18%” — likely a SERP or algorithm shift, not authority loss
  • “OpenPageRank up 3 points, revenue flat” — SEO uplift hasn’t converted yet
  • “OpenPageRank slipped, referring domains down too” — coordinated link-profile change worth investigating

Notes

  • Rate limits: The OpenPageRank API allows 10,000 requests per hour. Chartcastr’s usage is well within this limit, but if you experience throttling, check our status page.
  • The free OpenPageRank API key has a generous daily request cap shared across all Chartcastr customers. We monitor usage; if you ever see service unavailable, check our status page.
  • The first scheduled run will draw a single-point chart unless you opted into the Ahrefs backfill. Each subsequent run adds a point. Daily cadence reaches a useful 30-day chart in a month.
  • When the paid DataForSEO upstream lands, you’ll be able to add backlinks and referring-domains metrics to the same source.
